yep these are the ones most people seem to favour as a temp guage

wouldn`t call it a low coolant alarm myself

i have one in conjunction with a low coolant kit
i have found it does exactly what it says on the tin
i have it bolted directly to the cylinder head
temp in summer ranged from around 80c up to 114c
in the cooler weather in the same places it reached it`s highest temp in summer
last weekend it hit 100c
was quite surprised the difference in outside temp made

there has been an awful lot of discussions on this and coolant kit,

imho this and the coolant kit adds to the peace of mind
and at the very least the coolant kit tells you if you have lost fluid before you set off
so should then prompt you to look into why you had lost coolant

hope this helps

Yep !! Fitted one. They only tell you the temp of the bit of engine you bolt the sensor to.
NOT a low coolant alarm or coolant anything.
Just a engine temp guage with a settable high temp alarm. Good bit of kit but not a substitute for the coolant loss alarm
