wobbly wing mirrors

Post by BONGO DRONGO » Tue Nov 13, 2007 4:28 pm

My wing Mirrors wobble at high speed. (so do other bits but its never been a problem) can I tighten them up? I prised the cover off from underneath but could see nothing loose and there were a bundle of wires going in that made me nervous. Is there a nut under the chrome bit? :? any help appreciated Bongo Drongo

After an accidental brush pass, I knocked the mirror, I did'nt think anything of it, untill driving, when I noticed the mirror/glass moving inside the casing like it had a twitch. I found that be gently pressing against the mirror, something seemed to click back into place, and it's been fine ever since. [-o<

There is a circular plastic cover on the inside of the door. If you prise this off there is another bolt to hold the door mirror on. It was missing on mine. My drivers door mirror wobbled until I replaced this bolt.

I find sometimes when i retract the mirrors in a car park and then put them back out afterwards it doesn't drive the mirrors all the way home and they wobble until i retract and wind them out again.

I'm glad that's all you get Mr Halibut. When I try that with mine they just seem to break and never work again :( :(
