Rear Brake Shoes

Post by Pete & Sue » Tue Nov 13, 2007 1:05 am

Brake parts catalogue.

http://www.ford.car-brakes.co.uk/

I looked up Brake shoes for Mazda Bongo and found shoes for 88 - 99 2.0 LTR Bongo. Cat: number BSS7243 axle set of 4, £19.90 exc vat. (229 radius x 42 width)

Any chance that the 2.0 LTR shares components with 2.5 LTR?

I suspect they have the same rear brakes throughout the bongo range, but that price seems suspiciously cheap for the handbrake shoes

on the same site Ranger set of 4 £23.85. Perhaps it is for linings only.

I think the Ranger just has drum brakes on the rear.

Q - Was there ever a 2.0 Bongo Turbo Diesel? Anybody heard of one.

Those rear shoes for the Bongo are dearer than 9" rear brake shoes for my Fiat Marea TD and it clearly states the price is for
BRAKE SHOES AXLE SET (4)
The price looks about right to me, if you are worried give them a ring and question the existence of a Bongo 2.0 TD it could just be a typo due to somebody not realising that Bongos have two different rear braking systems - disc and drum.

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

It could well be the 'van bongo'. Not to be confused with 'Van-Bongo' the famous Dutch surrealist, of course.
