Glow Plug Dash Light

My new to me Bongo would not fire up this morning
and I referred to the HAND BOOK.
There is no dash indicator light for glow plug function( should be near headlight mainbeam warning light). Does this mean the glowplugs are not working?
How long should I leave the ignition key in the ON position for before
turning to START in the hope that the glow plugs are operational and
only a behind dash light bulb is required.
I live in GLASGOW.
Which is the best Bongo garage in central Scotland to head for if the engine starts?

About 5 or 6 seconds should do it. Has the light ever worked?

Hi, welcome aboard, can't answer the first question but garage wise you could try Crawfurd Car Centre, 4-9 Crawfurd St, Greenock, PA15 1YN, 01475 787 540.
good luck fixing her.

Less than ten seconds on a cold morning like today.

I was out at Campers Scotland at the weekend and was impressed with what they're up to. There are a couple nearer Edinburgh I wouldn't go near though.
I take mine to
Powdrake and can't tell you how good their service is. They're only about 30 minutes from you.

There is another dash warning light which my Bongo does not have.
HOLD. On taking off the plastic tray between the front seats and round the automatic gear shift there are two wires one black and one blue which are not connected to anything. The unconnected ends are near a small light bulb which actually works.
Any idea what these are for?

The small white bulb may be the bulb that illuminates the small green
indicator light/window in the ashtray

Did you buy this Bongo from a dealer RANT? seems to have a lot of problems, including the ones you PMed me about.
If it is dealer bought - I'd take it back and tell him to sort it or shove it!
