Hi bongoboarder, there a few clues to whether ABS is fitted: amber light on dashboard when ignition is switched on, and if you have a look behind the wheels, see if you can see any sensor wires. If you have 4WD, the outer end of the front drive shaft will have a serated ring on it which sends a pulse to the sensor. Ours is a '98 model & it has ABS, but you'll never find two identical Bongos - all part of the fun.

BTW, you didn't buy your van from a dealer near Bideford? Just that the white over blue sounds like a van that was owner by a forum member in Barnstaple.

Just drive slowly along, put near side wheels on the grass verge and brake hard.
If you stop safely, you have ABS... If you slide off the road and end your days in the burning wreckage... You dont!!!

Mine says 4WABS on the dash when preignition is on. Does yours???
