rumbling noise

Post by glynreaper » Sun Sep 30, 2007 9:14 am

Hi

my bongo has developed a rumbling noise, it seems to be coming from the rear end (ooh errr missus!) gets worse at around 50mph + sounds like bearings but i have jacked it up and tested the wheels and there doesnt seem to be any play.

Is there any other tests I can do to diagnose worn bearings or could it be anything else

Glynn

Personnally i would get the wheels balanced first. Out of balance wheels do tend to get worse at certain speeds. All to do with resonance between wheels and the rest of vehicle. Whilst its there ask the fitters to jack it up and check the bearings for you.
