Front diff

Hi all,
I want to check the oil level in the front diff, we have an SGL5,
I'v gone through the check sheets on lubricants etc, I can find the oil type but only how to check the rear diff.
anyone know.

Look under the Bongo from the drivers side through the
gap between the front wheel and wheel arch you can see
the front diff, you will see 2 large bolts/plugs about 19/20 mm
the bottom one is the drain the one on the nose of the diff
casting NR were the prop shaft joins is the level/filler undo
it if oil comes out all is well if not add oil till it does.
don't touch the bottom one unless you intend changing
the oil the bottom one as a magnet fitted so you can get
a idea if all's well.

What type of oil please.??

If your bongo has a limited slip differential paul, you will need to use a (SAE90) GL-6 gear oil.

Or an (SAE90) GL-5 oil for 4x4's with no L.S.D.

EP 90 Hypoid gear oil, GL-5
same for front/rear diffs and transfer box
you need about 6 liters to change all three
something like 1.85 litres in each.
