Va va voom?

Post by Ricardo » Wed Aug 22, 2007 10:32 am

Unfortunately this is a noise that my beloved Bongo has begun to make. It is not wheel related but the va va noise increases in frequency when speed does. Sounds like its coming from the rear. Brakes aren't binding. Nothing is slowing me down unduly.

Any ideas?

Rear bearings on drive shafts methinks. Out with the spanners.

I'd go for the driveshaft option.

Same sort of sound from mine.

Had a couple of driveshaft bearings replaced recently (bad vibration) and the specialist pointed out that there was some wear on the rear shaft and that I should get it replaced/refurbished asap.

Vibration now gone (mostly) but vroom vroom still present....until I can locate a replacement driveshaft.

cheers
