Coolant bleed pipe

Post by MAXANDPADDY » Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:28 pm

I seem to recall a thread concerning the coolant bleed pipe fretting against the bodywork where it is stowed under the pax seat. While I had my alternator off today, I noticed that mine had fretted against the top of the alternator. I cut and split a short length of garden hose and popped it on job done! It might be worth a quick check next time your heads in there. Only problem is, I can't water my butternut squash now, the hose won't reach.

Cheers...a much needed reminder to those who havn't done it yet.

I nearly cooked my engine a few months ago due to the bleedpipe chafing near the alternator and bursting.

70mph in the M6 outside lane in bank holiday traffic is not the best time for an emergency stop with a cab full of steam!
