Willinton is selling the 100a VSRs on ebay at the moment.
I've just had one and I think there's another on the go.

Hi Dandy
Which one's that then? I can't find it.
The ones Willinton sells are voltage sensing whilst all the other Nagares I've seen are"dumb" relays even though they appear to have the same part number.
His are the only VSRs of this current rating I've found that are under ~ £60

This one.......

Same part number - I wonder how they differ if the number's the same

Does seem very odd to give two different porducts the same number!
They are clearly different though.
The one you found has the circuit diagram of a dumb relay printed on it and seperate trigger feeds. Willinton's has no trigger feeds and an earth connection + he clearly states it is a VSR.
I'm sure they are different and that Willinton's is worth the exta £££.

Maybe willinton modifies the standard RL 180 12.
Well spotted corbimey

Loads of people are now scatching their heads as to what split relays are and what they do, where they go and why we should have spares, not everyone is tech minded.

It's wot you need to charge a leisure battery

So, what do you suggest David? That the post goes into the "Campsites" forum???????
Corblimey put a post in which will be of use for people who know what they are. If folks want to know what they are then Google or similar will give the answer and everyone's happy
The same must surely apply for any forum - nobody knows everything

Ahem, chaps,
I just bought it. Thanks for the heads up.
I thought my VSR. (another make) has not been working recently. That exchange of forum chat encouraged me to go out in the rain to check that it really was duff. It was and the replacement is on its way if I know Willington!
By the way, I tested the VSR by hooking up a charger and with 14.7 volts across the main battery, the little led on the VSR did not come on and the volts across the leisure battery were 12.6, showing that nothing was getting through, checked the fuses of course.
Cheers,
Tim

David: the split charge relays I'm refereing, are as dp pointed out, for charging a leisure battery. The beauty of the one Williton sells compared to dumb relays is that it needs no connection to the alternator and hence it is dead easy to fit. Whats more they're a great price.
Anyway, looks like it's too late. His other one has now gone.
Until next time...

No I think you are missing my point,no critisism intended to anyone but where is the harm in starting a thread with say "" look guys the slpit relay to charge the leisure batteries are on offer ETC"" see what I mean, I have a flat top so do not have a leisure battery and why should someone need to look in google if it can be included in the point in question, simple really and as far as I can see just bloody common sense. Happy motoring.

Point taken but I've written on the subject profusely, produced full instructions, a parts list and photographs explaining the need and fitting process in detail.
It's a topic the runs almost every week, in fact I believe there is a thread on the subject currently running (not this one) and I usually chime in recommeding a voltage sensing (intelligent) relay like the one this thread relates to.
I assumed, as Dandy pointed out, that if you knew what I was refering to you'd be interested and if not then proably not.
Appolgoies if my lack of common sense offened.

Good gracious no. no offence taken at all and a damn good idea re the fact sheet, as I said having a flat top I never needed one but I can see where the info you have produced would be of enormous benefit to free top owners. Happy motoring..

David, you refer to having a "flat top" - is that a reference to your head? Or even the cap that you wore when in the Force!
I know this is off message, but the police in North Wales wear black baseball caps - how naff. Totally robs them of any authority in my view.
