I have only ever fitted one to my VW Golf, no probs really. Only thing is having the courage to drill a hole in your roof. Just put some masking tape down to stop the drill bit slipping. Don’t forget measure twice, cut once.

Would a bee sting or shark fin (BMW) fit onto the rear spoiler, without fouling the roof when the door is opened?

Good luck and pics please if you go ahead.

Could you not just screw the bee sting into the broken stub of the original aerial?

Yes, i've fitted one of these all you need to do is as follows

1- Remove the original aerial ( be careful not to lose the ball bearing)

2- Cut off aerial thats left flush with the the mount

3- Get an electric drill and drill out the remaining part of the areial from
the mount

4- Screw in the brass double ended screw that should come with the bee sting

5-Put the mount now fitted with it's brass screw back onto your Bongo (carefull once more not lose the ball bearing)

6-Now screw your new bee sting onto the brass screw now remounted on the Bongo

7 - Now turn on your radio enjoy the cyrstal clear sound and look at your s**t hot aerial, smug knowing you saved a fortune not buying a Mazda original

Hope this helps and sorry i can't show you any pictures at the moment only my cameras broke at the mo. :D :D :D
