Clicking noise

Post by DickieP » Thu Jul 26, 2007 2:17 pm

Just a quick question about raising the roof. When I do so, theres quite a loud clicking noise as the roof starts to rise, its doesnt continue during the whole process. I watched the video on YouTube of the roof raising, but the exact momment where the clicking occurs has been edited out of the clip..
I was just wondering if this noise was right or not?

Can't say I've noticed a clicking noise, but it can creak a bit.

can you get someone to raise the roof and listen to try to locate the clicking sound. if its from the rear of the roof thats around the motors which operate the wormscrew running up the two runners. they could be loose causing a slight slipping. ive just recently spent 4 hours stripping ours down after "wind"damage to the roof so i could be able to offer help but need to know where the clicking is located. they often creak which may be cured by rubbing a wd40 soaked rag along the two gas struts.
