Creaking steering wheel

Post by idetika » Tue Jul 24, 2007 9:29 am

Have had bongo for a few days and yesterday the steering wheel started making a noise when you turn it as if there is something catching behind it. It seems strange as the night before it was fine and the next morning it squeaks. I'm not at all technically minded but is there a way of stopping it (besides turning up the stereo!) or do we learn to live with it. The sound definitely comes from the steering wheel and no where else.
Sorry if this is a daft question!

Mine does that and has been for sometime. I'm guessing it is a wire or something like catching on something as you turn the wheel. I'm loathe to mess with it due to screwing up the airbag assembly. So until it breaks I'm putting up with the noise unless someone gives me an easy fix.....
