Post by JR » Mon Jul 09, 2007 9:54 pm

hi. bongo has been performing well and then on way back from cornbury music festival developed high pitched engine noise. not all the time but intermitent and when accelerating. doesnt happen at low speed or when idleing. doesnt seem to affect performance but is very annoying. noise seems to be squeal from engine. very annoying and about to go to benicassim festival in spain. any ideas ????

thanks in advance ....jr

Stuff like broken manifold stud, or belts, or turbo pipe leak seems to have been mentioned in the past on BF but I've no experience with any of these things

Good luck anyroads and no doubt someone will suggest something useful.

The best bet is a broken exhaust manifold stud the one most prone to shearing is the one nearest the front of the Bongo. It might have fallen off or be in place and loose.
It is an easy job with the right tools but a b****r if you don't.
There is much on this in the archive, take a look.
Hope this helps,
Tim
