Alarm going off!

Post by crazycampers » Wed Jul 04, 2007 12:53 pm

My alarm keeps going off whilst I am in the van with the doors unlocked, quite often asleep! Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy the situation?

It'll depend on what type of alarm you've got. It would seem obvious that it is 'self-arming' when you switch off the ignition and not just when you lock the doors. If you can't stop it doing that, can you disable the internal sensors (probably some sort of ultrasonic device)

Mine did this when I first had it fitted. Look in your instruction book to see if there's a 'programming mode' where you can turn it off. To enter the programming mode on mine you have to enter a PIN by switching the ignition on and off, then pressing one of the key-fob buttons a number of times for each digit.
