ATF Sunroof - electric sliding coer?

Post by Glynanderson » Fri Jun 29, 2007 8:35 pm

Hi,
I posted this question in the Bongo chat section but thought it might be better here.

Thinking of ways to make the sliding blind that covers the sunroof electric.
Anyone done this?
I thought of maybe getting the guts from a side window blind and using that somehow.
It's part of making the Bongo more child friendly.
I've already started moving the rear air con controls into the front so that I can control the rear climate, as my 2 year old son hasn't quite got the hang of it yet!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As to the air con , I may have been a bit unclear.
I'm in the process of removing the controls from the rear side panel and relocating it next to the handbrake, where the ashtray should be. I've actually got as far as this but I'm a bit stuck as to how to make it look good, it's just sitting there in the ashtray hole.
I think I'll cut a hole in the ashtray moulding and see if I can tidy up the finish with a car radio surround.

Would still like any thoiughts on motorising the sunroof cover!

i think something like this would work with a pivot bracket as it only has a 120mm stroke. chris
