Bench seat lapbelt mounts

Post by mp3oplecarrier » Thu Jun 21, 2007 4:08 pm

I know I'm a pain, but I've searched and I can't find any info on this despite remembering reading about it on the forum! :?

How do I mount these on the seat? I would apreciate some help 'cos I'm just off outside now with a spanner!

Thanks

undo your mounting bolt that fix your seat to the floor and put them on over the bolt and stick the nut back on and tighten them back up  .

if memory serves me  , you have to drill the hole a bit bigger for them to fit over the bolt.

Middle row, and do you mean the bolt that fixes the seat to the runner?

(I'll go and try that now!)

I can see where a normal static lapbelt could be fitted, unfortunately I thought it would be a good idea to buy inertia reels....

I think I have found somewhere to mount them, but didn't have the foresight to take a picture!

Before I re-mounted the seat I saw there was a tempting hole in the slidy thing just clear of the mechanism, and it looks as if I could remove the plastic side panel, make a matching hole in it and mount the reel there.

Only problem with that is on the doorless side, there isn't enough room to put your hand down the side to find the end of the belt!

Grrr :x

Is there not a small loop of fabric at the seat edge specifically to retain the end of the belt?

I've seen that, but the spring on the inertia reel would pull the end straight through...
