front aircon not working (digital type)

Hi All,
Just driven my Bongo down to Spain with no problems apart from one...
The aircon system is behaving strange, the recirc button will not switch off, if i push it then the main aircon light goes out, no cool air or any blower at all in the front, the rear works fine.
Hope its something simple as its getting bl**dy hot down here, and spares will be a bit on the hard side to obtain.

Have you tried letting it recirc? Some air con units automatically switch to re-circ if they detect the ambient is too hot to deal with. If you leave it running it may switch back to fresh when it has got the cab temp down to the pre-set.

agree.
You dont want 30 degree air coming in and being cooled all t time. Better to leave it on recirculated and stay frosty.

Left it for a while but no change. there is no air coming out of the front at all if left in aircon mode, fan starts up when switched on and revs go up like they did before problem started. checked the drain hose from windscreen, all fuses checked, disconnected battery for 3 hours in case electronics had knickers in a twist, still no joy.
Would lack of coolant in system have this effect? how would i check this?
