Fitting a clock

Post by Glynanderson » Mon May 14, 2007 5:08 pm

Juist installed a din cubby with clock.
Rather than the seemingly usual BMW analogue clock I decided to go for a ral Mazda clock.
It's digital and green and looks like the rest of the Mazda dash.
It's actually from a '99 Mazda 626
What do you think, better than a Beamer?

It looks grand++

BUT, I have to admit I really like having an analogue clock, esp. one that gives an audible click once a minute. Even more odd, but I've come to like the way it has its own colour light, diffrent from the Bongo instrument lights

Maybe I'm odd..............................NAH!

I have a problem with digital clocks they have to be accurate to the second or they annoy me, where I don't seem to notice it on analogue clocks, however yours does look good. :D
My other cars a Bongo!

Cheers Maxheadroom (he was one of my favs when I was a young un!)
Was only a tenner inc. postage from an online breaker.
I'd suggest you ask for the plug too though as the back of the clock has a 16 pin plug!

Glyn - I dropped you a pm earlier in the week, but just in case you haven't read it yet, can you tell me which wires you connected where please? I picked one of these up from the local scrapie, but have yet to figure out what the 5 wires do. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Face off radio is only there for longer journeys, doesn't display the time when in standby or playing cd's.
Sunglasses go in my armrest console, where ther is a nice compartment specially designrd for them.
Thanks for your input :0)

Here's some info I gave Simon Jones recently, haven't heard anything negative from him so I'm presuming it was OK

I've attached a few pictures to show how I number the pins.
So using my 626 these are the readings I got from a voltage meter.

pin 1 +12v
pin 2 not connected
pin 3 earth
pin 4 +0.35 volts
pin 5 not connected
pin 6 not connected
pin 7 not connected
pin 8 +10v lights on, 0v lights off
pin 9 +12v ignition on
pin 10 + 12v lights on
pin 11 not connected
pin 12 +0.35v
pin 13 - 16 not connected

I've no idea what the two pins with +0.35 volts do.
Hope this helps,
Glyn
