is this the start of a leak?

Hi
After reading all the threads about overheating and the complicated cooling system I decided to give mine a good look over. All looks ok apart from the two hoses to the front heater where there is a white crusty substance around the hoses. So is this the start of a leak? :?
Thanks phil

looks like a small amount has seaked out at some point, is your coolant level staying constant?

yes Pretty much I top up a small amount every 2-3 months, and the needle sits rock steady at 11.30.

Worry not then  just monitor as you are doing, these overheating threads do cause concern, but the plus side is that members are made aware of correct coolant quality, levels etc, do a coolant change every 2 years, bleed the system, replace jaded hoses and caps as need arises and you will be fine

Thanks for your advice :D , I think I will changing the hose clips with some good old jubilee clips just as a precaution. :)
Thanks phil

Thats what I have done, jubilee clips are much more user friendly--stay cool
