Hi everyone. Just lifted up my seats for the first time to have a nosey round the engine compartment. Under driver's seat found a hose wet with what seems to be oil and possibly a missing clip....see piccie. Not sure whats what. Is A the inlet manifold (for air) and is the wet hose C from the turbo. If so, why is it wet with oil. The cambelt was changed as part of presale service, so is it possible the clip was missed off. How urgent do I need to get one back on ..if at all! I'm assuming B is the cambelt cover. What is D?.....Looks like a coolant hose.

Help....what's this?

Thanks for prompt response Dandy. I've tried to choke back the panic and read some threads, especially this one http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... old+sludge . Would seem that some sludge is to be expected, some debate about disabling EGR or not.
Do I need to worry...or do I just put a clip on the hose, wipe it and forget about it or should I ask the dealer/Bongo friendly garage that serviced it to have a look for me.
P...is the hose to inlet manifold removed to change cambelt and could that be why clip missing? Also, how can you inspect cambelt? Looks like a night mare to change ?done from underneath.
Sorry if all a little naive.

Read some more now. What a great site this is. Feeling more confident and may disable EGR and plan to contact Allans Vehicle Services re blanking plates..........unless someone tell's me to stop and have a cold shower.
Also read about changing cambelt and looks like that is how the clip went missing.

This is sad I know, talking to myself on this thread but just need to say I've been a plonker. Have had a very helpful suggestion from Allans Vehicle Services to have another look for clip which may just be coated in oil and ...yes there was one there after all !
Allan also says can find oil on this hose so ?wonder where its from. Can't see any leaks so presumably ?rules out EGR sludge. May just now clean it and leave alone.
