hi my bongo(maz)has 83.000 on the clock is she anywear near to needing a new belt at what millage should they be done?

If you don't know when it was last changed, I'd get it done now - a lot cheaper than a wrecked engine.

Sorry, forgot the rest of your question. It should be changed every 100,000kms or 62,000 mls but they perish with age as well.

Have just asked the same question and found your answer mine is coming up to 96000km so will need one fitted any ideas on how much

If you source the cambelt kit yourself dave it should be around £100 -£150 labour, Ive seen the belt on its own for about £30 and the kit ( belt and tensioner) for about £60- £70 both were on ebay.

Got my cambelt kit from Bongo Towers. Got it fitted for £30 cash in hand (know what I mean guv??)

they have got to be the easiest vehicle in the world to change the belt on, i've just done mine along with a new head but if your not sure a gagarage shouldn't cost much as the time needed is probably less that 1/2 an hour i reckon even less if a ramp is available.
