sounds good. we went there last year. drove on then drove off.. when its wet its boggy and 4x4 is a must. people were stuck all over the place, then you get all the mud into ya bongo and tent. and it spends all day in the clouds if the weather is bad. so for me at
£8 per adult x2
£3 per child x3
£4 hook up
£1 for the dog
its a bit of a cost with the fuel price as is....i sound like a grump i know.
We did Barmouth last week its a great place but our pocket felt it in Talybont . i dont get this price per adult ,child, dog, awning etc why not just have one price robbing T****..

Sorry to be a pooper.

Nearest chip shops are Porthmadog and Barmouth (can't believe there's nothing in Harlech) so if there's barbecue-extinguishing rain you might all need a backup plan. We're bringing a range of Pot Noodles and some Spam

Isn't there a chippy in llanbedr? There's a pub :) mind you we'll all be stuck in the field knee deep in mud, that's if we even make it there so pot noodle maybe a more sensible option ;)

OOOh. there is a very good chippy in Harlech. It is also a Cafe. If you come into Harlech on the narrow roads, go past the little shops and the Spar on your right, go round the corner and you will spy a carpark to your left. Directly across from the car park (Maes Parcio) is a Large Cafe with chairs that don't match and another that was painted white last year. That is the Chippy. Made to order. We said we would be back at Blah, blah time and they had it ready for us. You can even sit in.

N0.2 Right next to the Castle is an amusement arcade that sells Chips, dogs and stuff. Picnic benchs outside.

Now if you go on the Shore Road in Harlech , there is a chippy there. Big, Huge Carpark with no height issues. If you can see the Castle on your right the chippy is on the left.

Now in Talybont there is the commercialised Static city. At the botom of the lane leading to the beach is a Takeaway, Bar and Attractions such as Bingo. So, from Harlech head to Barmouth on the Beach road, enter Talybont, go over the narrow river bridge (Tony's Italian and Pizza Takeaway and restaurant.
then a very large one on the left hand side on the road from taly bont to harlech 2 miles south of taly bont.
In Barmouth itself there are loads near the Railway crossing. There is however a fab Bakery on the rail crossing that sells MASSIVE home made Pasties.

As you leave barmouth by the Harbour there is another Chippy on the left. It is just after the one way system, very close to the rail bridge.

Hope that helps

Chell

Pasties and Chips sound good to me...given that I'm currently trying to 'be good' but I am also runing 3x a week so I reckon I'll be ok with chips and/or pasties
