The main thing is lets hope they've changed all the parts that were suspect and that might have contributed (as well as those that suffered) and lets hope you can get back to many miles of happy camping etc (mind you, if you can halve the camping miles travelled you might quickly recover the repair bill cost in fuel savings - sad but true

Wise Words indeed. The van has not really been too costly except Diesel or caused a problem in Six Years, however here it the list, ,minus appropriate Garage expletives.
Removed Cylinder head for machining (Gone Bannana Shaped) eek...
Then Sent away as it had 2 seized Glow Plugs took 3 extra days to find a company that had the right tools
Rebuilt engineNew head Gasket & Kit
Head Bolts replaced
Thermostat replaced
Antifreeze, Oil, and Filter Change,
New Glow Plugs
Cam Belt on the way out Replaced....
Took hours to get the coolent to de-bubble the engine apparently
Two New Rear Tyres
Then an MOT as it was due so they did that .... and thank goodness it Passed.
12 Days Later & £250 pound to our lovley government in TAX its back, does this mean it qualifies as a Bongo Friendly garage ?
Today - It Drank almost a tank of Coolent today on a test run hope its just settling in.........
Finger Crossed
Hi did they refit the old head or a new head?
Cheers.

Might of been lucky but 9 times outa 10 the heads crack
was it pressure tested ? i sure as hell hope so
I took my head to be machined and they do a pressure test first as they know the WL engine heads high fail rate
Keep a good eye on those levels and for any steam from the exhaust fingers crossed you have a 12 month warranty on the work done

Cheers dave
I have had another sniff under the bonnet the coolents where I filled it back up too.
They said to keep an eye on things and bring it back in a few days and they will throw it on the ramp and have a look under to see if all is well.
regards Mr P

I`m sure if you go to the Rutland water meet next Sunday some one could check the bleeding of the coolant. I always carry a gallon of 50/50 just in case
