Glowplug Light and Fuses

Thanks for the varied and interesting answers!

So far I've put a brand new scavenger sensor in (on the tunnel!), so the connection should be ok, my engine doesn't get that hot as I have fitted a Mason Alarm and the gauge sits at 12 o'clock and add a few minutes for going up hill.

I saw a white connector behind the dash when fitting the alarm below the wiper stalk (ish), but couldn't see anything to connect it to so left it.

I think Kirsty's idea of having a diagnostics machine plugged in would be the next step. Maybe the suppliers have one as I'm taking it back tomorrow due to a gas ring not working on the stove either

Was it hanging loose?

Some people disconnect this to stop the beeping when the keys in the ignition & the doors open.. & it does.. !!

But it also made my glow light flash...!

I think some wires were connected to it that led off somewhere, though they don't look like they have been fitted as an afterthought; the wiring looks like the normal Mazda wiring. All my buzzers bells and whistles work (annoyingly!)

Have you got, or did you have a turbo timer fitted? it could be the wiring loom for that



The two 6 pin sockets - male & female - are plugged into the existing ignition loom, thus providing a spare take off ( the 3 pin plug & separate wire) for the turbo timer to be plugged in. This shouldn't make the glow plug light flash, but it's easy enough to remove the loom & reconnect the original male & female connectors.

The light turned out to be the waste gate actuator. When the fitter swapped the pipes it stopped

Not really understanding that one but as long as the poroblem's solved Was I right on the turbo timer loom?

Me neither...he just swapped the pipes over and the light went out. I might have got the name wrong...maybe a waste valve actuator?

He didn't think I had any wiring for a turbo timer

What did he think the spare connection was then?

He just said that Mazda tend to use just the one loom a lot so people end up with wiring and connectors that aren't used in that particular model, such as front fog lights etc. He didn't know what it was without tracing where it went,which we didn't have time for. If I get under the dash again, I'll take a photo if that would help to explain?

Probably not to be honest, as you'd need to see what it was connected to as your guy said.
