Last summer it was almost £1.30 a litre, remember?
£70 wasn't that much then . . . .

Time to look on the bright side
If you had done that (filled and run a diesel-engined car with petrol) on a 'modern' vehicle with their high-fallootin', common rail injector pumps, the cost of the lost pertol would have been the very least of your worries..
Every day, peeps completely wreck their pumps - which require the diesel as a lubricant - by filling up with petrol; costs many,
many £100's to repair.
Thanks goodness for the agricultural simplicity of the Bongo diesel engine. And self-priming to boot!
What more do you want?
(Ok, apart from better consumption. And smoother running. And quieter operation. And...)

I know it sounds really weird but I hadn't looked all week - I just had my mind on other things. I never noticed it getting low and obviously you dont get a warning.

I am having a challenging week. We have had the car, my friends strange news today with the murder and hanging and I have just heard that another friend has had a stillbirth. I think I should go to bed and start again tomorrow

before anyone worries - Dydo is affectionately known by some members of the forum as Dildo. It isn't offensive to me or Dydo. It isn't meant to be
If it has upset anyone then I apologise but trust me - it isn't meant that way
