With the gauge positioned where you have it....
a....is it safe to look at it whilst driving ??
b....will you notice it if the temp starts to go critical ?
I would have thought some where on the dash would be the "G Spot"

I dont have room on dash due to voltmeter/switches for other goodies etc so thought it a good compromise. It's no worse than looking in a rear view mirror and i think on the dash it would be more likely to draw my attention to it as it changes constantly.
I dont want to look at it all the time , i have it to add some meaning to the mason i already had fitted. I now feel i can better understand what's going on with the cooling system and can relate it to the mason settings better. The mason will alert me if temperatures are getting critical, I just feel this will help me validate what the mason is telling me.
I think an occasional glance is all i need and it's less distracting on the consul.

Hi Haydn
Don't think Nigel actually wants to be constantly looking at it and monitoring his system. He has a Mason to do that.
What it does mean is that he can now put REAL NUMBERS around the Mason which mean something. (you know I have never been a fan of measuring temperature on the O'clock scale or even the Mason 4, 4.5, 5 - cos these numbers mean nothing to me). He can now set his Mason to 4, and when it alarms he can tell the actual temperature the alarm is set at. A one off check.
The most valuable thing this gauge brings to the table (for me) is when bleeding, beause it tells the operator when the stat has opened, and indeed, if the stat is actually working properly. That's what I use my TM-2 for anyway - to let me know if stuff is performing correctly.

I have to admit the "Taxi tariff" look bugs me too! My plan is to fit a rocker or latching switch in line to turn it off... However, when the handbake is aplied or put in park (Don't know which yet?) it will automatically turn back on...

Can't quite get me head round that bit of thinking Jamie

, but I know it will be good

Switch on or off when driving... & if the Mason kicks off? Instant readout when stopped! Call it a panic mode...

To end with a question, if you had 10 sensors to distribute around the van in a non-invasive way, where would you put them all?

Internal/external air temp, hose stubs, exhaust, etc...?
If i could get a long enough probe wire....? I would like to monitor the temperature in my house..!

Aye - one in each room!

precisely... Fitted alongside the cameras i have set up to keep an eye on my Butler..!

Like that

A LOT. I knew it would be good.

- switches gauge on when needed (or when curious)

Dear *******,
Thanks a lot for your letter.
We apologize for the inconvenience we bring to you. We have tested the item and confirm that there is something wrong for the display.
Also we have run the test for it. After we have found the reason, we will send you the replacement. Is it ok?
Please wait for a few hours more.
Have a nice day!
When I took the back off to check the dipswitches
It may not be the most coherent, but they have admitted there is a fault and that they will fix and send a replacement unit. I've written back confirming that if this is free of charge then it would be a very satisfactory resolution.
Fingers crossed they get their programmers doing some decent testing. Given that they sent bikerbob code, hopefully they are close to sorting this out.
I'd ordered a couple of these just before this was flagged up
On the listing it said 2x 3m leads, I got 2x 1m leads on both
When I tested them in a kettle, as with you guys got to 75 degrees & went haywire
When I opened the back to check the dip switches found one was damaged inside
Should look like this
Not hugely impressed

(not blaming Jaylee, good find if they work, like my existing 1 input one one fitted a couple of years ago), I will be contacting them very shortly to get them to send what I paid for, has anyone else received working replacement units yet?

No replacement as of yet.
My listing never stated lead length - just "NTC precise external thermo sensor x2". I'd prefer 3m but as I intend to customise it and would need to break the wires to do so, it's no big deal to me.

Not needed replacement unit [ so far so good it seems to be working fine ] but did have issue re; sensor length. they confirmed pre-purchase it was 3m but sent 1m. After asking me to pay for replacement , once i told em where to go they did send 3m sensor and said i could keep 1m. took 3 weeks to arrive but it is china !
Does seem they have some quality control issues. Still think it's a good find and they do seem to be ok at sorting problems, hope i'm not proved wrong by those with outstanding issues.

You all pretty much know i got sent what i paid for & it works..!
But i have ordered (just before the heads up.)

a second unit..

It hasn't arrived yet!
When it does.. The plan is to "pan test" in conjunction with mine to make sure they are calibrated the same, then sent on for further testing to a certain gauge mad Bulgarian forum member...

(Mad about gauges,

not off the gauge scale insane in the membrane..)
Sorry you guys are getting the hassle from this company!
Kirsty; just for future reference... Could you define what you meant by "haywire"??

As I said Jay, not blaming you or anything, just one of those things.
Just got a message back from them
Thanks a lot for your letter.
Please send us the picture to shown the dispaly when the meter is powered forus to check
Did Tallbongo & Bikerbob have to send pics of theirs? - getting a tad pi55ed off as I didn't take pics & will have to set it up again as I packed it all away

was tempted to tell them to shove it, that I'd leave them negative feedback & pursue a refund through Paypal. I sent them the link to this thread, so HELLO if you bother to read it
"Haywire", erm readings were jumping all over the place - completely random seeming then settled @-30 odd I think. Not doing their job, the same as Tallbongo & Bikerbobs.

i WOULD DO EXACTLY THAT -- TELL THEM WHERE TO GO AND I BET THEY SEND YOU A NEW ONE !
you shouldn't have to p*** around with pics , what will they show anyhow ? you would need a video to show the erratic behaviour !!!
