Wow, haven't seen machine code since my ZX81 days.
Looks like he was after the mapping, bit to in depth for me but interesting nonetheless, thanks.
I shall have a rummage through Rhinos old posts

Well that was another great read! Now going through Driver+Passengers posts to see how he got on with the BOB!
Geoff your simple description of the circuitry stuff was very useful to an electrophobia sufferer like me.

Thanks for the replies folks - I have been out buying a cheap runaround for while the Bongo is laid up.

The symptoms are - Engine warning light on, charge light on (but it is charging), hold light flashing (wont go away by playing with hold switch).

Also it is now difficult to start from cold where it was always fine before.

My Bongo expert has checked plenty of other things like earths and continuities but not found any broken wires.

We have tried all of the breakers we can find but have found nothing at the moment - so I think we will just have to be patient.

I will have a word with the repair type people in the next couple of days.

I would be happy to pay a tenner or so and of course the P&P.
You can have mine when I get it replaced - whenever that is.

If the lights are flashing that indicates that the ECU's are reporting faults have you read them out ? Either the Fact sheets or http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm

Thanks for the ECU offer that would be great.
Could I be a real pain and ask for an image of the underside of the plug wiring?
Its the wire colours I need, I can get most of what I need from those.
We have OE Mazda scanners, albeit UK carded, if that would help your guy out, he is welcome to bring the van over and have a play if he wants.

Does anyone have similar images of the V6 ECU showing the wiring into the plugs?

Yes they are for all engine types until 1999 on the site, you will need Flash on the browser - so not phones or tablets;
