Evening folks, only just getting my head back together again for more than a few minutes at a time.
Many thanks for the responses above to Ian's note on my behalf. We have the details for the cremation below, but appreciate that being spread out around the country its unlikely that many would be able to attend, however as we have lots of relatives in the NW any of you will be welcome to attend the informal gathering in Worden Park, Leyland to be held probably early Spring - no fixed date in mind but will post details when we know them ourselves, also of course any friends down in the West Country will be more than welcome to visit with us too Deer leap as well. Details below;
First a thank you to everybody who has been posting on here regarding our loss of Edna Mather. Both Phil Mather and I would like to thank you all for your thoughts at this time.
We can now announce that the cremation will take place on Friday 11th December 10:40AM at the Worthing crematorium, Muntham Chapel.
All family and friends are invited to the service. We suggest informal dress and bright colours would be appropriate.
There will be an opportunity during the service for brief anecdotes or remembrances you may have, so please feel free to have a think and jot them down in advance.
Family flowers only, but donations to Cancer Research UK or the Macmillan Cancer Support can be sent c/o Dillistone Funeral Services, 191 Southfarm Rd, Worthing, BN14 7TW or a collection box at the service itself.
As a memoriam we are planning to provide:
A Bench and Plaque on Broadwater Green, Worthing.
A Plaque on a recently provided picnic table in Worden Park, Leyland.
It is hoped that when these have been provided we will hold small informal gatherings at these locations to remember Edna and to scatter some of her ashes.
In addition one of our favourite spots during our Bongo travels in the last few years has been Deer leap on the Mendip Hills, overlooking the Somerset Levels, and Glastonbury, we propose to scatter her remaining ashes at this location.
Any of our family, friends and fellow Bongonaughts will be most welcome to attend these gatherings - please PM me so we can ensure that when details are available we can provide full details directly.
