Bongo receiving some love - advice appreciated

I think we maybe rely too much on brakes these days instead of thinking ahead. Mind you, we often don't have much choice on the overcrowded impatient roads of today

Agree about the planning ahead and the overcrowding! The brakes are adequate of course but its always reassuring to know you've got some stopping power in reserve for when the (probably) BMW driver cuts you up

I've tested the autobox with my Haydn temperature gauge before now. When I bought it I didn't tow, so just bought the single sensor one. Now I tow I wish I had have bought the double, one for the engine, one for the box. What I did when I first for the caravan was move the temp sensor onto the box for a couple of hundred miles. I can't remember what the temperatures were now but they rose to around the same whether towing or not. Happy (as you can be) that the box wasn't being overstressed I put the sensor back on the engine.

That all makes sense. Also, it sounds like your cooling system is working fine to me so maybe best left as is - you can always spend the dosh elsewhere!

Like you say the cooling appears to be fine, so what imaginary cash I have will get spent on replacing the arches, and repairing the rust on the tailgate. And upgrading the wiring to the rear cigar socket and roof control module. And getting a new set of wheels (as one is buckled) etc etc

Well the replacement glow plugs did their job, starts so much smoother from cold. Just got to sought the airbag light, as per other post!
