Here's one of mine boils 250ml water in 5 mins on 20ml of meths. Thats indoors. No good in wind and a bit smelly.
Would be great light weight camping in a bothy.

I do as someone suggested in an earlier post, fold middle seat down and put either little butane stove or electric kettle on it. I use a metal tray to sit them on for safety, rather than directly on the plastic.
I also use an electric hookup run in through the window, went camping last November and didn't freeze to death with the window open a crack as my stick on screens helped narrow the gap. Also having the electric meant I could plug in my little heater so I was toasty. You could always stuff a towel or something in the window gap but it's quite good to have it open as it reduces condensation.

i am thinking of getting one of these for the house anyway,but i have wondered as i am totally ignorant of these thing could it be used on hookup or would it trip it.If not it would be perfect in that the plate isnt hot to touch so good where theres children or danger of bedding catching on it. Youd need a kettle with an induction base (or a saucepan) (anything a magnet will stick too.

Mount a camping RCD hookup unit on a board in the passenger footwell ( using existing mounting bolt points - easy peasy ) with the cabling going through the bulkhead and under the bonnet to a connector which in turn can be plugged into the long site cable (which for extra safety is fitted with another RCD at the site end) . When connected to the mains the bonnet can be closed for security.
I have used this for five years with no problems . Camping RCD hookup units are around £20

Thanks for all your help. Have just camped again overnight cooked on back of seats worked well.
Will have a look at that footwell thing sounds good.
I def need hook up-was cold last night and had free hook up so was a bit miserable knowing I could have been warm.

not need if you can cook etc then put the kettle on and fell you hot water bottle

Its about 9amps (2000w divided by 220v ) so depending on the hook up amperage.
Some are 10A but I have a distant memory of some only being 5 amp, I am sure some one will be along in a moment to correct me.

Just made a stove out of Fosters cans, great fun. Had to drink the Fosters first though. I wasn't happy with the first one so I had to drink 2 more cans and have another go. It'sh greeaaatfun thish making stovesh thing. I love you all
