Which switch had burnt out and has been replaced, the Passenger or Drivers door switch ?
Does the reversal happen on both switches or only from one door if so which one?

passenger......only on passenger...drivers door ok...did notice that the window lock on drivers stopped working ages ago

hi just looked at the diagram & you will need a multimeter to check the wires at your widow switch located in your n/s door card.leave the wires plugged into the switch & the ignition swiched on set your meter to volts dc & if you connect the black wire of the meter to the black/red of the switch then touch the red wire of the meter to the orange wire of the swich it should be 12 volts positive then same with the red/white wire if they both have 12 volts then next connect the black wire of the meter to the orange wire & the red wire of meter to red/white & operate the switch located in the drivers door card up & down you should get a 12 volt reading on the meter next connect the black wire of meter to the red/white of the switch & the red wire of meter to the orange of the switch & operate the switch in the drivers door card up & down again you should get a 12 volt reading on the meter if you find all i have told you to be correct then fault is with your switch in your n/s door.you could unplug the switch & temperary connect the orange wire to the red wire & the red/white wire to the green wire & your window should operagte up & down from your drivers door switch

have done tests u described
black to black and red....red wire to orange =12volts
red /white =0 volts
have checked the loom going through to door no breaks

the other tests registered nothing 0 volts

next i will check the u bend and loom drivers side

hi if you are getting 0 volts on the red/white wire then it is your switch in the drivers door card that is faulty you should be able to take it apart & clean the contacts with some sand paper

Hi Rob, if a fractured or broken wire does not becomes apparent in the V bend attached to the hinge on the drivers door..? Check where the loom goes into the oval rubber sleeved grommet in the wing...
Be careful, there are about 4 little clips where the grommet attaches to the wing/lip of the hole. They break easy...!!

hi rob when you say you can send the window down i take it you meant using both the drivers door switch & also the passenger door switch?
