Ok i think ive got a problem with the said glowplugs they are too short for a start but i was told they would still be ok!!!! ok the ones ive took out are overall lenght top to tail 4" yes 4" CANT SEEM TO FIND ANY AT 4" 10.16 centimetres are these old ones wrong??? i have Vin number SGL3-104375 engine code DEO4512 can anyone point me right please i want either BOSH or NGK many thanks Barrington.

Did you mean that the old ones are 4", and the new ones are 10.2cm? Presumably, you've compared one with the other. There are 2 types used on Bongos as far as I remember.

THB, I've not changed glowplugs for ages - all I know about Bongo ones is that if they snap on removal it's a bugger of a job to get them out.

I'd be tempted to take them out, and refit with a good smear of copper grease on the threads. This might help with the sealing, and will help in getting them out in the end when they need it in the future.

Have you tightened them with a torque wrench, or just the "4 white knuckles" method? (The one I use!) They may need to be tighter than you are comfortable with - but I'd definitely be following the correct torque figure if nipping them up just in case.

Also worth checking as much as you can for damaged threads with them out - this might be letting some pressure past.

Sorry I can't be of much more help though.

Edit : Are these the 102mm plugs you need?

The old ones are overall 4", the new ones got to be nearly 1" shorter! oh and 4" knuckle jobbie :) Thanks anyway Dave :)

Not able to view that Dave but yes 102 millimetres = 4.01574803 inches what make are they please?
