You may have to let the paler pink line of the timeline run a little (Buffer) then continue to watch. Seems okay to me.

Could I make a suggestion? Download the file to your computers . They are MP4 then bluetooth or copy the files to your mobiles. That way if you need them, you have them with you at all times. No need to worry about internet connections.

as to header tank have noticed that there is a small crack, it is where the two pieces meet only on the lower lip, just below and to the right of the cap, doesn't go all the way through *yet*, thought I would try to source one sooner rather than later.

right new hose fitted, and we are now trying to bleed the air out
been doing it for over two hours now
still small air bubbles coming out, am reving it and sometimes when i rev it the level drops right out of the funnel?? is this right?
van has heated up to the point where scavenger fan kicks in about 3 times now???

level is holding pretty steady in the header tank
bottom hose is hot hot
tried heaters and they all blowing hot as should be.
help

Sounds as though you have done it........job done I reckon......just keep a eye on things for a few days,

That's as it should be, the idea is for the level NOT to drop right out of the funnel, as in the video, keep the level in the funnel by lowering it as you rev & the level drops, then when you can lower no more, stop the revs & let it fill up again, bringing the funnel back up again - hence the see saw in "see saw" method, also making sure the level doesn't drop out of the header (this is where the low coolant alarm comes in handy when you're doing it on your own).
As Haydn says sounds like you're just about there.
Do you mean the rad fan kicks in? when it does, does it bring the temperature down ok?

yeah the temp does drop ok.

out for a drive loading the shoopeing whislt the engine was running drove away and realised there was water on the floor so we stoped water was pooring from the over flow pipe from header tank just connect the bleed pipe to a big gush of air open the header tank and water started to poor out now stuck in asda bodmine car park with to kids HELP!!!! lots of air comeing out

dont try to run it,get it recovered,

Hate to say it, but you've got to look at the possibility of a serious issue going on, you could try bleeding it to get you home, but personally I'd get it recovered to a bongo freindly garage - Allans in Plymouth would be the best bet IMO.

Excuse spelling in above post, my teenage son wrote it whilst I was on the phone to him telling him what to do!!!!

update with correct spelling and grammer!!!

van was running lovely on the drive out, no problems with overheating. came out of asda and had to pull forwards to get shopping in the back left the engine idling for about 5-10min. as we pulled away noticed the water so pulled into another space and opened bonnet. water again pouring out of header overflow (same as thursday, also the same was the fact that the van had just been idling). opened passenger side just to open bleed pipe and see whats what as the bung came out there was a huge gush of air and water shot out. opened header tank and water came gushing out at pressure. header tank did empty. we were so glad we still had the funnel with us as they dont sell them in asda!! bled as much air out as we could before we started her up. made sure the raad was full etc. in all had her running for over 1.5hrs in asda car park reving see sawing etc, still didnt come up to normal running temp **according to temp gauge** bottom pipe did heat up tho.

waited till all air bubbles stopped then carried on for a bit longer. decided to drive home as we could not afford to be recovered and we had two little ones with us (2+8). temp gauge stayed halfway (very un-usual) for about another 10 miles. in fact temp gauge was acting very odly.had front and rear heaters on full all the way as well

Do you think the head is cracked and letting air in- hence the pressure pushing water out of overflow pipe??????
Could it be a radiator problem?????
Am feeling at a bit of a loss really, not only are we meant to be going away meeting up with family on fri, we also poured most of our money into buying the van last year and our savings havent really recovered yet.
I love the van but have a feeling we wont be getting another one!

Going on that info I fear the worst I'm afraid.


Prepare for the Worst Case Scenario, anything less is a bonus.

Are you saying the temp isn't as high as normal? could be the stat has failed open if it's been into prolonged overheat scenario? Either way, you need to get it to someone who knows what's what, that's two lots of overheating pressure cap blowing

Taking it too out local bongo friendly garage first thing and laying dwn on the forecourt if they say they cant look at her!

imo your abnormal temp readings later may be down to the temp sender switch,it may be inacurate now after being fried.
the way forward would be to maybe do a pressure test.
