make sure you use an inline designed for diesel,as the small paper ones have been known to collapse and cause blockages.
use a small length of to connect filter diesel pipe,instead of fitting in between existing fuel line.
connect inline to existing fuel line before main filter,attach a short length of pipe then to the inline and attach this to the main filter,this saves cutting existing pipe,and makes it easy to revert back to normal if inline becomes clogged.
also note on the inline direction of fuel flow.

these are the filters i use,but you will find them cheaper elsewhere,this is the same as mine.

Trev - have you been using the biodiesel from the Huddersfield facility? I am reluctant to conclude my problem is from their fuel since it is much cheaper than ordinary diesel and if the Bongo is happy with it then its a bonus in several ways.

Sorry, no. We haven't been very far in the Bongo this summer, three weekends away on one tankful (Yorkshire Dales, Silverdale and Hayfield), still got some left! All our fuel recently has been from Morrisons in Meltham.


Last Biodiesel I used was in Belgium back end of last summer, and that was in the tank for about 3 months. I suspect that was only 15% bio anyway.

One idea is that a Bongo, being older than many vehicles I have seen filling up at the Lockwood bio pump, has more 'gunk' in the bottom of the tank from fifteen years of use to get flushed out by the biodiesel?

just to mention sediment light and charge light being dimly on, my husband and i have posted a messae about this before, i spoke to 2 people at the garage who fitted the conversion and they said these lights were nothing to worry about they said it was common in the conversions with bongos, we bought a charge tester and tested the alternator and that seems fine, am i to worry about it?? or are they giving me a load of flannel??

Dimly is the key I think, to do with the LB charging on some conversions connected to the alternator rather than a voltage sensing split charge relay from the starting battery. Nothing to worry about unless they both become fully lit - then it's likely your alternator goosed.
