Welcome to the madhouse

I'm just down the road in Grange over Sands and have an unconverted silver bongolow.
Had it about 2.5 years and driven over 130,000km in it.
I think I'm now aware of most of the routine snags and benefits of owning such a great vehicle.

That would be great harry any info that i could have would be great when coming to buy my bongo. i am not in any way good when it comes to cars i do not know anything about them. It would be nice to have someone to ask about things just in case i dont know myself. I am sure i will be in touch with you over the next few months.

I dont think i will make that one but i am hoping to have purchased my bongo by june and hopefully be able to get to a few meetings over the summer. I dont think i will get to many over the winter due to having a three year old and a 6 week old and it being quite cold camping in winter. What did you purchase bongo wise just to be nosy.

Keep an eye on the NW Autumn meet at Silverdale on the first weekend in October.

30 bongos booked in already. We had over 40 last year.

If you want to go for a spin anytime to get the feel of how a bongo drives (and what to listen for) give me a call. I'm in Kendal regularly during the week both daytime and evenings.

Nosy is no prob Scott.

It's a 1997, white over silver, SGL3 (rear 2WD) AFT (lifting roof). 47,000 miles...2nd one down from the top on the gallery page

We got a drive away awning and we're nearly ready for our first camp . We got a nine year old and a three year old...they're excited to bursting ...but, I don't think they'll brave much in the winter (they're girls!! )

You've got some great offers to see Bongo's close up coming through here Scott, take them up and learn all you can

That would be cool thanks m8 i will take you up on that offer at some point and i will look out for that meet. Where abouts is silverdale i have only been here a little while i have heard of it but dont think i have been there.

I will definatly be taking people up on there kind offers. I am waiting on the sale of another vehicle so once that has gone i will be looking really hard to find the right bongo i am so excited at getting one. I come from a family of VW owners and allways loved going away in the camper but i allways loved everything that came with having a VW like the clubs and having something in common with other VW owners and just being able to talk to them about all things VW. I am going for a bongo though as i have been impressed with a lot of write ups on them plus they are so cheap compared to VW campers but you still get that community feeling just from coming on here and meeting other bongonauts.

A lovely site much favoured by the bongo fraternity.

Lots of great walking country, good pubs, tea rooms, RSPB Leighton Moss all nearby.

Although we live on the doorstep to the Lakes my wife & I tend to head for the Silverdale/Arnside area for an evening or easy day's walking whenever we have the time.

Oh so there is quite a lot of people in the north west group who are from darn sarf then that is good. I look forward to the day i join the tribe of the bongo.
