without a meter you may struggle-however try unpluging the control box(passenger footwell)and the relays,then plug back in.
the sensors are on the end of the black cable running from the hub then along the under side of the vehicle(rear)or into the wheelarch(front).
why do you suspect the rear ones?
to check them with a meter you will need to find the connection(approx 2ft from hub) and check for continuity first-if thats ok spin the wheel to see if you get voltage output from the sensor(cant remember values but you can compare values from other wheels).
the front connectors are accessed from under the bonnet.

Thanks for the info. I had been advised to check all sensors, hence query about rear ones. Had thought to buy a meter from Halfords once I had some idea of what to do. Will have a look this week between baby-sitting duties and trips out with family.

I have, at last, found the offending sensor. Rear nearside; the rear wheel has been rubbing against the wire and the wires are bare at that point. Just a case of getting the correct sensor now. How do you get the sensor out of it's location?

I have looked on the Partfinder but can only find the actual Rotor for the sensor. Any idea of part number?

good news.
the sensor most likely has seized in place so its a case of knocking/prizing it out.you probably will end up destroying the old one in the process(not really an issue as you wont be reusing it)but be careful with the teeth on the rotor.i protected mine with a piece of metal plate.
i am sure you will make sure the new one is routed away from the tyre !.

Had another look at sensor. Jacked Bongo up, removed rear offside wheel and could get to the sensor quite easily.
Found that one of the wires was completely cut and the other one half through. Cut wiring, bared wires and joined them together with much twisting and use of gaffer tape, the ABS light now behaves normally.
I am going to get some cable connectors tomorrow so that I can do the Bash and then get home and sort out a more permanent repair.
Thanks to all who put the various information onto this topic, it's been a great help.

Fixed the ABS wiring for now.
Just a thought, have any of you that are having trouble with your ABS light fitted Alloy Wheels recently, as I have done? I wondered whether they are wider profile than Steel Wheels and this is causing the wheels to foul the wiring.
