sorry to bea bit thick but i had already looked at that fact sheet i know what the mini blade fuses are i prusuned wrong that the others were just larger fuses are they in fact relays??

I'm using Halfords "Super Brilliance" lamps they were 'Buy one get on free.' They are better than what was in originally, but still not great. The lens does not seem cloudy, so I was wondering if theres something you can do to the reflector inside? I'm I right in saying reflection is just as important for a good beam

The reflector is paramount to the quality of light Brora. I've got Lidl 50% extra Tesla bulbs in and they do give a stronger, whiter light

I don't know what the reflectors are like in the headlamps, but the tail lights reflectors are just a matt silver, maybe faded

I've just been to HALFORDS and bought a pair of their Super Brilliance 12v 60/55, £14.99 each on 'buy one get one free' offer. I can now see that there is a piece of road between me and the car in front instead of the usual orange fog!

I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the bulb change is quite easy, despite two batteries being in the way. Take off the connector from the bulb; press-in the catches on the two horizontal connections, take off the rubber boot, undo the clip that holds the bulb, lift out and replace bulb. Just reverse the procedure and switch on the lights.

Bugger!!!

Forget to ask, what type of bulb is used in the sidelights and what do you recommend? I would like to get rid of the orange, candle-like glow from them.

The lights on ours are OK on main but bad on dip, not the worst
lights I have had but just not good, you may find that by fitting
100w bulbs you could end up with voltage drop due to the wiring
not being heavy enough and you may get better light output
with more efficient rather than bigger wattage bulbs.
Best lights I ever had were on a R reg Fiesta completely standard
but you could travel on a pitch black road at the same speed as
in daylight and never a flash from oncoming cars.
Thinking about it the lights on the Bongo look very much like the
MK1 Fiesta now that did have bad lights.

Also you stay legal, as 100w bulbs are for off-road use only.

I am using "9LED w5w" lamps for the side lights. They have a blue tinge to them even though, they are sold as white I have just orderd another set form ebay:- LED

This pair I just won, I'm going to try in the Number plate lights to aid reversing.

They are also used in my front interior lights, having read of others using them.

Hella Xenon + 50% bulbs are the ones to go for, 55/60w bulbs, identical in brightness to 100w lamps but less power consumption and less heat.
cost $55 nz for a set.
Made hell of a difference in my Bongo, dipped beam lights are as good as the high beam used to be!!!

I quite agree dandy, i had the blue versions of the tesla bulbs in my bongo, and the difference was immediate! And at £3.99 a pair, not each...per pair! I suspect they are re-badged Osrams,(they looked like it).

The Tesla bulbs were the same 55's as the original bulbs, so no worries over the legality, or the issue of overloading the circuit.

I've got Osram blue bulbs...C.E. marked, and clearly stated E.U. legal...not much extra output, and the same wattage...more than adequate..if you find the output insufficient, keep some baby wet- wipes in the glovebox, and clean the lights!!!! My classic Jag used to have terrible problems in that direction....give 'em a wipe, and job done.
