I thought i'd ressurect this thread, following on from "wheelybins" request for rear speaker fitting...

I,m about half way through my stereo upgrade, (i have yet to fit a sony xplod 4 channel amp, components, and tweeters.)

I've got the biggest problem sorted, and that was laying the amp wiring (not as bad i thought it would be)

And fitting the huge kenwood 7X10 speakers in the rear panels.

The sony amp can simply be linked to the wiring going to the fusion 2 channel amp, via a distribution block.

Image

Above: The 7x10 on the passenger side, suprisingly, this can still be heard quite clearly even with the seat raised!

Now the driver's side... seat down of course.

Image

The fusion amp, (scuse the as yet untidy wiring)

Image

And now the fusion 12" sub in a "yet to be re-trimmed in grey cloth" box

Image

And the reference type sony head unit, lots of gizmo's on this head unit, motorised screen,4x50 watts (din) outputs, dvd /playstation playback through head unit screen...

Image

More to do yet, just gotta get round to it....

Oh, while i'm on the subject... I decided to NEVER open the rear drivers side window whilst the stereo is on loud,as viewed through the mirror,it looks like its going to vibrate out! BOOM, BOOM, TINKLE!

Thanks ICB . Its still quite rough really, as i have yet to come up with a more permanent location for the amps. I,m thinking about a false floor/wall type thing to box them in,with an etched perspex cover, and run a few fans from a p.c. to help with the cooling aspect.

I have some ideas regarding blue leds, (for ambient lighting) The top of the sony amp glows blue at night,i'd like to incorporate that feature into the overall install.

I'm thinking also that a 100 farad capacitor may be neccessary to provide enough "juice" for the twin amp set-up,if i get one finished in chrome,i'll buy a chrome fire extinguisher for the opposite side...I did all the wiring,so the fire extinguisher could well be on the cards!
