We usually end up down the Gower @ Easter here
Really good campsite.. about 3 miles to the beach, hot showers etc. There's usually a load of Swatk flyers around at that time to so.....
@ Perry... Sure theres kite surfin going off there, but the beach can get huge when the tides out so you may wanna pair of roller skates with you. to get to the sea

Have land kited at the Gower but not kitesurfed. Kennexstone is a realy nice camp site.

Foz surely you wouldn't see a lady in distress and not offer a pillion passenger ride out to the sea with your buggy

When is Atmosphere 09 is it not around the easter weekend?

I have had a thought.
Last summer i would get to the end of my workng week and get up the next morning and fill up th bongo and head towards the wind. it didn't matter to me how far away it was to the beach as long as i went somewhere with onhore winds.
All of us with bongos and kite gear only need to decide the dates that we would like to meet up We then decide the night before between us where would be most advantagious. I don't think that you can decide now where the best place is gonna be unless i is so expansive that it don't matter.
Let me know your thoughts.

sounds good tony, however if it gets later on in the season those bongoliers who dont/cant wild camp might struggle to get on a camp site.i know i tried to book in to a campside last august for bls but everywhere was full so ended up cmping in a carpark. there are plenty of beaches around the uk where we can go to play. i only mentioned bls as its such a large area when the tides out you can get a good 10 hours flying time and not see the sea. ive flown down at gwithian, cornwall a few times. think that where i met foz.foz first.
we need to see when roughly people want to meet up in the year and hope that we have nice weather and plenty of wind.
lets keep this on up to date as its a long time since dee opened up this thread and wanted to meet up with likeminded people.

BLS will do for me Mike as long as it is not mud like last time. If the wind is the same i wil not complain as long as the rain don't come with it. Would you be camping at the campsite next to where i went with the buggy? something Farm

yup the very same campsite redbank farm, its a working farm so very basic but at £2 per night what do you want, does the job and you can just about roll down from the site to the beach. bls is super when its not wet and the area is so large you can fly whichever wind direction is blowing in.

Sounds good to me mate. Just had a look at the website for redbank
http://www.redbankfarm.co.uk/
And they state £5 per adult, still cheap though and £3 for leccy
Let me know when you are thinking of doing it.

Cheers

bolton le sands wont be until at least march/april time which is when there is another low low tide. the beach dosnt really dry out until then either so its not very hard going. even in march jim says it needs a few days prior to get good.
there is a post running on racekites regarding the next bls meet.
redbank must have put their prices up since last year but dont expect to be using much hook up, i think they had 3 points last year but as its only a weekend that i stay im not bothered plus ive got portable 240v built into bongo via 1000w inverter
will keep you all up to speed with it.
btw hows the cougar. jammy devil

It looks the dogs whatsits sitting here in my living room in bits. As to how it rides, i don't know. Had the flu for 3 days and just as the wind is getting up i gotta go back to work. Will get a go on her next week i hope. Don't worry when i do i will be posting the experience.

Laters.

Oh yeah, the tides, how can you tell when they will be really low and how do they work?
I understand that there is a 1hr difference every 24hrs but is it seasonal the LowLow tide or just on a cycle itself?
