I had one of there before i saw this post ,i was messing about with temp reading on the fuel side not coolant(i know..i know),i found that my reading would only stay on oc after shining a light on it(thats how you change it from oc to f) do you guys have the same ??
It would sat in oc if i didnt disconnect the power to the unit, would this be ok to leave on all the time on a lesuire battery?? i fitted a cig lighter socket to the end.

I'd put it onto the SB on an ignition switched circuit TBH Jez, why do you need it on the LB? You only need to see the temps with the engine running don't you?

Yeah, but it doesn't need to be on all the time - ie when your stopped, hence my post above - nowt to do with which temp scale

EDIT, got what you're getting at now

Can't help with that one, sounds like it may be an american origin unit if it's default is fahrenheit?

Fitted my gauge next to the BMW clock,

twas a bit of a struggle

to feed the cable down to the top hose but got there in the end
Next day set off on a 1000km trip of Wales

, the gauge provided so much more info/entertainment

than the Mazda (wake up at 11o'clock gauge

) ....had to remind myself to watch the ROAD

as well as the gauge

They can be set like that... There is a four way type dip switch on the back behind the cover on the PCB...
A bit like this?
I set mine to read both channels in Celsius..
There is a light sensor in the top left of the screen.. The more light hits it the brighter the readout, when dark it dims so as not to dazzle...
I actually moved my gauge to the top din slot, above the radio, so it can react more in bright light... Nice clear read!

See my post above... You may need to set the dip switch to get the second probe to work??

Rhino-wayne kindly found & posted the link to the instructions....
http://www.sure-electronics.net/downloa ... 1.0_EN.pdf
I found it quite intuitive... A bit like setting up the old SMPTE analogue MIDI track striper i used to have...! (Still have...)

OK,

I'm gonna stick my neck out here.... For starters, i have nothing what so ever to do with the company that makes or sells these things....

I'm pretty confident these things are reasonably accurate for what they are? (I will be doing more tests on that!)
Then i will put some kind of "fact sheet" together.... Cuz in fairness, it can take some sussing out....
Just let me finish off replacing my fuel hoses first!? I spent an hour in the dimming light looking for my wedding ring last night, after it dropped into a Bongo cavity after my hand got caught..

(I did find it though!)

I'd put mine there, but I've got front fog & spot switches there. I've got a voltmeter in the other side, and 2xblind switches below.
I'll find somewhere!
