Comma 5W-30 Eurotech oil

Post by RobnKathryn » Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:48 pm

On the container, it doesn't state that this oil is suitable for diesel engines....yet it has CF code in the spec, so am I right in feeding my Bongo with it?

Yes and no. If it a CF it meets the criteria for diesel oil up to a good standard so it will be fine for your Bongo. No because a dedicated diesel oil has surfactants in that are not part of the testing criteria but make it a better oil.

On balance I would happily use it for up to 6000 miles but no further.

CF is a more modern API spec than was current when your Bongo was made.So it's fine.
The only thing I would consider is how many miles yours has done.
If it is over 80k MILES I would go for something a bit higher viscosity otherwise you mayburn a bit. try it and see.
Comma have always made good products, so no worries on quality.

Thanks guys..........mine is on 145,00 km, so perhaps a higher viscosity would be better...............would this be a 10W-40?
