tail light fuse woes

Post by milo » Mon Jun 18, 2007 9:05 pm

Hi all
This is my first post and I am sorry to say one that pleads on my knees for help. I have got a new van and done a full side conversion. Now my taillights, front fogs etc refuse to work and blow fuse under bonnet as soon as I get to the side light position on the lights stalk. Short somewhere but where? my question is what shares this fuse. I am ordering the cdrom but am supposed to be going away this weekend for the first trip. Oh well fridge works just cannot drive after dark
Thanks in advance for your replys

Wondering if you have screwed a self tapper into the wiring during the build?

Fuse blown

I'm with DaveupNorth on this one, either that or the wiring had been trapped during the build and is shorting out to the floor, wall or somewhere metal.

Only way to find it is to physically follow a wire from rear lights forward till you find it.

Hi thanks for your replies yes the self-tapper suggestion would seem to be the most likely, hopefully should be a fairly simple feed but that is why I was asking about other loads using the same fuse. I suppose number plate lamps
dashboard etc but my front fogs are dead and I think they would be on a more current capable circuit. Oh well, I should not meddle!
