Bodhran (pronounced bowrawn) = irish drum.Round and made of goatskin
(could be called an irish bongo),struck with a double ended stick called a tipper.Playing it is the art of GoatWhackery.Used in ancient celtic times as a wardrum and made from a grain sieve.
Brian O`Bongoplod,to be sure.

For those of you that have never attended a NorthWest/Yorkshire combined meet... Here are a few heads up.
Other seasoned attendees will no doubt add to my witterings.
1, Bring Beer, wine, spirits, whatever you fancy.
2, Friday nights are usually quite chilled with everyone settling in and helping each other set up. Lots of mingling and introducing though.
3, Saturday night is usually BBQ night. We often drag the BBQ's into a handy area and all pitch in. If you havent got a BBQ, someone will no doubt let you slap your meat on theirs. If you have got a big one, can I have a go?
Then we spend the rest of the night laughing at Peters wine stained shirt and laugh some more when his legs go wobbly. (he has a head start this time though
)
4, None of the above is set in stone. If you want to sit at the other end of the field and lock yourself in the Bongo for the weekend thats ok too.
5, About midnight on the Saturday night, we all drop our car keys into a big bowl and the women get to........ Sorry. We were supposed to keep that as a surprise
