Vibration from rear/centre 2.5 TD Auto 2WD

Hi,
I have just noticed quite a pronounced vibration from the centre/rear of the vehicle it has not happened before and is intermittent,if feels to be prop vibration.It has been stood for quite some time,any ideas gratefully received.

Check the universal joint for play.

Vito, If not Prop related, check your rear tyres for a distortion. I had my 2WD AFT Bongo delivered with 3 new tyres and a barely worn Japanese fitted Dunlop, 3 months later I started to feel an occasional twitch from the rear, this escalated into a full blown happy labrador tail shake above 40 mph. Visually every thing was fine, until I jacked up the nearside rear and spun it, I could see a slight twist to the tread, so obviously it had suffered some impact damage or a plug repair which had caused cord damage. New tyre fitted, all O.K. for last 18 months. Shakey

Thank you both for your comments and advice.I took it to check the tyre pressures which I had not done for some time and they were all over the place and put 34 all round in them and experienced no problem on the 2 mile drive back.
They do seem to be peculiar vehicles with unforgiving habits,I will give it a good run and report back,Cheers.

Ya daft bugger vito - the old girl was trying to tell you something, and she was right. How many other cars would be arsed to do that.

Hi Mike,
I know exactly what your saying and I only hope she's only trying to bite me in the a*s* for not checking the tyre pressures but I feel the Bongo,in my limited experience driving them,has many sub plots !!
She's only done 50k miles but I still have the feeling that its my wallet she's after,in which case I may be better off importing an 18 year old Thai chick and getting taxis.

You're probably right vito, but we've done it now. I had 'Bongo angst' when I bought mine but dont worry now. So far, she's been very good - touch wood .
