MOT emissions print out

Post by Bongoplod » Tue Jun 12, 2007 8:01 pm

Greetings.

Bongo just passed its MOT,and on getting home and putting the MOT away with the other ducuments,i noticed a print out stapled to the back.

Its a Gas Analyser Printout. It says the Engine oil temp was 67 degrees C,and then it reads as follows:-

Acc ........................ K [m-1]
1 ............................. 1.42

-----------------------------------------
OVERALL TEST RESULT
PASS

K=1.39 m-1 (< 3.00)
Zero drift = 0.03 M-1

The above is exactly how its printed on the readout. Can anyone tell me what it all means and is it normal, low or high?? :? :?

I thank you,
Brian

This looks interesting Bongoplod, and might be valuable to other members in establishing 'norms' if/when they have to assess how wide of the mark their's is when it goes in for its MOT.

Anyone mechanical enough to give an answer? Could be valuable for all (e.g. in a factsheet?)

Here is my last MOT which appears to be different from Bongoplod's. The garage told me it was "perfect, like a new car".
Sorry, but it is printed by poor quality dot matrix and you will have to save to your computer and then magnify.
To save you having to do that the figures are
sump oil temp 30c
run k gas temp
1 0.28 26c
2 0.21 28c
3 0.18 28c
Zero check K-0.00
RESULT K-0.22
****PASS****
Hope it helps.

Excellent Colin. Thread starting to be useful now. May refer to it when Mango gets done in November (skillfully planned to be when camping season is at its nadir  )
