Leisure Battery SIZE?

Post by boyfrombrasil » Sat Jun 09, 2007 4:11 pm

Physical size that is!

I read somewhere the suggested maximum physical size of leisure battery you can fit in the front of the bongo. But now I can't find it!

Can anyone tell me, or maybe tell me what make and size battery they have that fits. I'm looking at the over 100A/H type here.

I think it all depends on what battery tray you have. I managed to fit a 110amp in mine. I checked the size of a few on ebay and took a chance on the smallest physical size and it just fitted. :D

have a look at ebay item number 330128006819 leisure battery tray these will take an 85 amp battery with some room to spare. This tray and battery are fitted to my Bongo. I don't know the physical size of 110amp or higher battery to know if they will fit.
Be nice to everyone they might be nice back.

Or this one, item # 220120268606

It will take all sizes of leisure battery, upto and including the Bosch and Numax 110Ah. I've just used one for my installation, the battery fit's the tray fine, but is a bit of a tight squeeze to get it in place under the wing...

willinton is the geezer that sells the big battery trays on ebay, and he says he designed it for the Numax 110Ah as being 'the biggest you can safely fit in the space'. From there, I guess you could look up Numax and get dimensions, then make sure any other make doesnt exceed those (oh and willinton says try and get one with teh terminals same as Numax i.e. facing to front of battery with +ve on left when installed). I played safe and got a Numax for a good price! 8)
