Oil filter change problems - please help

Post by ros » Thu Jun 07, 2007 7:25 pm

Hi All,

Have just changed the oil filter on the bongo and refilled with new oil, bongo starts fine, but if revved or driven, it pees oil all over the place. Looks like it's coming from around the filter but this is on tight and the rubber seal is intact and in place.

What have we done worng?!

Thanks,
Ros.

Hi,
Might be worth checking the seal for any marks or cuts, or even to see if the old seal is still there underneath the new one.

Somebody had exactly this problem about a month ago. If you go back through the topics you will find it. Think it might have been called " dumps oil on startup"

Thanks all for your help. We got a different new oil filter and it now seems to be fine. Just about to go away in the bongo but will try to remember to update with the new type we bought next week in case others have similar problems.

Ta,
Ros.

Where did the dodgy one come from Ros? Can you get your money back?
