Towbars are too cheap and too useful not to have one. I just fitted mine and it was about £90 all in. It's also really good fun watching people dissapear when they are walking too close to your Bongo and don't notice the tow bar.

I don't think the Bongo needs an additional oil cooler but I would change the gearbox oil immediately and every 20,000 miles thereafter. Your mpg's wont change much with a small trailer.

Only you can decide if you want a trailer tent. If you like tents they are about the best you can get. It makes a huge difference being off the ground and having proper beds. The problem is they are still tents so if camping isn't your thing then don't buy one. Small folding caravans are a much better option for me and don't take up much more space. Trailer tents start at £200 and folding caravans at £800.

We regularly tow a 1100kg caravan with no problems at all, and I do not notice any increase in fuel usage. One thing you will notice however is that hills do not seem to exist with a Bongo, also the hold button serves as a very good engine brake for slow descents.

we had trailer tent for years great fun and you can pack a bit in them .
i too looked at the new camplet great bit of kit but iam going with an awning now as not wanting to tow when on hoilday.
if you got the tow bar fitted like we are going to you can try it by buying a cheap trailer tent from the free adds paper .
