I've been calling round tow bar fitters in Bristol and one was saying that tow bar fitted "trays" are a bad idea because the tow bar can bent under the strain. Anyone had any experience of this?
Yes - I have a Drop On Carrier with a Drop On Box and overloaded it first time out. It only produced a slight twist in the Tow Bar but the Bongo Tow Bar attachment is particularly susceptible to twisting, and the maximum Nose Weight is only 85Kg. The solution is to strap the back of the rack to the Tailgate hinges. This increases the stability and load carrying capacity too.
